How to transform an exhibition area into a green corner?

Can a set-up contribute to making a fair more ecological? Teco, a leading Italian company in refrigeration technology, could tell us about it, which has chosen a natural cardboard set-up to enhance its communication and increase the sustainable value of its corporate image.

At numerous national and international trade fairs, the company commissioned us to create an ecological stand to promote its product on the world market. Trade fairs are always tasty opportunities to present oneself to the world and lay bare one’s essence; to do this to the best of one’s ability and to differentiate oneself from the competition, one needs the right idea and a well-organised space to present oneself.

Conceive, design, create

Conceiving, designing and realising are the essential steps leading to the material realisation of a stand for an ecological trade fair. For this project, the starting point was the feeling of welcome and warmth that a customer expects to find when visiting a trade fair. Is not a stand an ideal extension of a part of the company structure itself? And so we conceived it.

The set-up designed to fit the bare area consists of a back wall formed by decorative panels interspersed with joining columns; we then created a closed cage positioned in the centre of the stand that hides a service area positioned at some distance from the back wall so as to leave sufficient space for a discreetly concealed lounge to welcome customers. This space was furnished with cardboard armchairs from the Crava series and Ortles tables.

The front of the cage was decorated with a print identifying the company and surmounted by a panel decorated with natural lichen to enhance the sense of sustainability of the exhibition environment. On the side, custom-made displays were placed consisting of a vertical panel decorated with non-toxic digital prints and a cube-shaped base that serves as a seat or display surface.

The front of the stand was occupied by a reception desk from the Losa E series with an ecological laminate top surrounded by a series of stools from the Ortles S Plus line with upholstered seats. Finally, the exhibition area is closed on the two front sides by relaxation corners bordered by low panels printed with the company logo and colours and furnished with sofas and small tables from the Golliaz line.

A decorative and functional reusable cardboard stand

A stand made of cardboard is not only an impressive decorative element, but a highly functional display solution that excels in modularity and reusability.

Modularity is a strong point: the versatility of cardboard makes it possible to create the most diverse shapes, satisfying the customer’s creativity through precise design and hi-tech cutting. The stand is conceived as a set of light and manageable components that, thanks to manual pre-assembly, ensure:

  • easy assembly/disassembly: the lightweight properties of cardboard allow for easy moving and quick assembly. Smaller stands can be assembled independently, eliminating time-consuming and costly set-up operations.
  • adaptability: The structure can be easily reconfigured. The modular design allows the stand to be adapted, like a glove, to different exhibition spaces, always maintaining a consistent corporate image and conveying messages naturally and effectively.

The economic and environmental benefit of reusability is crucial:

  • multi-event reuse: the robust yet lightweight set-up can be disassembled, packed and reused for multiple events, trade fairs or promotional initiatives, maximising the initial investment and reducing the need to create new structures each time.
  • sustainability: as natural cardboard is an environmentally friendly material, its reusability and ultimate recyclability confirm the choice as a super functional and sustainable option for the company.

No more wasting resources on disposable fittings.
