Last year we were contacted by the Municipality of Rapino, in the province of Chieti, for a supply of cardboard office furniture . The project was part of the recovery and energy efficiency works of the attic rooms of the town hall. The idea was to recover an unused space, enhancing it and making it a laboratory of projects and ideas for citizens. The architects and the Mayor therefore decided to aim for a set-up that was green in every aspect: high-efficiency heating systems, energy-efficient lighting, but also ecological furniture. Hence the choice to focus on cardboard furniture to create an innovative environment that is at the same time warm, inclusive and welcoming.
All of Natur Design’s furniture is made of Havana-colored triple-wave cardboard and, as seen in the photos, has been used to create a meeting room, a reception lounge and some workstations. Tables and desks have been integrated with glass shelves with stabilized lichen grafts visible in transparency. The same lichen was also used as a decorative element with Rames design paintings. Various models of cardboard furniture for the office were used, including: the Otro table, the Ventina chairs, sofas and armchairs from the Golliaz line.
