On the crest of the wave with an ecological set-up

How to be recognizable with a cardboard display

Venice Boat Show

Arsenale - Venice

An eco-designed set-up can represent that detail that marks the boundary between being noticed and being ignored during a prestigious event such as the Venice Boat Show .

This concept was the starting point when we designed the Generali Assicurazioni set-up. The well-known leading company in the world of insurance prevention has decided to promote its business by identifying the Boat Show as a fertile ground to meet new partners and customers. The show took place in the historic Arsenal of the splendid Venetian lagoon and represents one of the main international fairs dedicated to boating that attracts the excellence of international shipbuilding every year. This year the theme of environmental sustainability was particularly felt and great emphasis was given to design and technologies that move in this direction.

The first impact is what counts

During an event or a trade fair that welcomes a large audience, the first impact is what counts. This is why it is important to design the space while also paying attention to the details. The client agency opted for an innovative and unusual eco-friendly design that would impress in the center. The color red certainly helped in this sense but in order not to make the environment too heavy we opted for a stand that was more of an open area in which to insert decorative elements that, despite their linearity, were able to attract the eye. The space has been delimited by a series of roll-up panels that describe the services that the agency offers and the values that underlie their work. At the bottom is a partition wall with the winged lion logo printed in white that continues laterally in a service room carefully camouflaged in the environment. In the center of the space there are furnishings made of laminated cardboard whose structure is deliberately left exposed as a decorative element of great effect. In particular, we chose chairs from the Taviela series and Cadini C tables, all customized in color. The set-up is completed by a Losa E reception desk surrounded by Ortles S Plus high stools.
