After a 2020 inevitably marked by the tragic consequences of a ruthless pandemic, 2021 aims to be the year of restart. It is equally certain that the world cannot start turning again as it did in the pre-pandemic period, but that this time there are all the conditions to build a society that puts sustainability and the ethical principles of the circular economy at the center of its decisions. The ecological transition and the European Green Deal are the topics of the moment and testify to the urgency of a turning point that is more necessary than ever. NaturDesign Cardboard Furniture is a company that has always placed sustainability and respect for the environment as key values of its business and at this stage we thought that the real challenge was to bring these values to the place where the women and men of tomorrow are trained: the school.
Hence the project “A scuola di riciclo” (Recycling school) which involves the creation of special cardboard differentiators, colored and customized structures that intrigue students and at the same time inform them about the importance of the theme of recycling. The differentiators are designed to be perfectly integrated into the break area of the school: depending on the space available, the dimensions can be adapted, embedded in structures made specifically for vending machines, or placed on the wall. They allow you to accommodate up to 10 bins for specific categories of waste, according to the indications of the municipality of reference (organic, non-recyclable dry, plastic, glass, cans, paper, cardboard, medicines, exhausted batteries, electronic waste, etc.). All with an attractive and aesthetically clean visual impact.
The importance of such an initiative lies in rooting the philosophy of the “5 Rs” in the new generations: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Collect, Recover. All explained with special information panels and with references to web insights through QR codes, with graphics, texts and colors customizable by the individual school.
All the structures of the differentiators are entirely made of triple-layer cardboard and their assembly takes place using joints and screws (therefore without the need to use glues or chemical agents). These are therefore formaldehyde-free furnishings that can be entirely recycled at the end of use.
NaturDesign Cardboard Furniture believes so much in the value of this initiative that it has decided to propose to all schools interested in the project a net cut of 50% compared to the list prices. If the environment wins, we all win.
