Our cardboard furniture is also among the protagonists of the latest awareness campaign promoted by Comieco, the National Consortium for the Recovery and Recycling of Cellulose-based Packaging. The project – created by the Different agency – sees the famous Lombard comedians grappling with gags on the theme of recycling, set in a house where all the furnishings are made of cardboard.
The motto of the initiative is “Laughter is good, recycle paper and cardboard as well” and, thanks to these fun curtains, valuable advice is given to avoid making mistakes when disposing of paper and cardboard, thus promoting virtuous recycling.

Comieco was founded in 1985 as a private entity to promote the concept of “ecological packaging” and since 1997 it has become a national consortium. To date, it brings together about 3,330 companies including paper mills, material and cellulosic packaging processors and recovery plants, promoting the creation of sustainable packaging and separate waste collection with communication activities and initiatives to raise public awareness of respect for the environment.
The videos with Giovanni and Giacomo meet this activity and the choice to use cardboard furniture for the scenography of the campaign was made in line with the eco-sustainable message that we wanted to promote.
Various types of cardboard furnishings were used to create the scenography of the campaign: some are standard elements, others are furniture for homestaging (only for demonstration use). You can certainly see the coat hanger in the shape of a Capro cactus, a Flua Plus 52 modular bookcase, a Verra A corner counter and the Taviela and Ventina chairs, as well as the cardboard baskets that for obvious reasons are the great protagonists of the staging.
We conclude by summarizing some simple attentions to keep an eye on when dealing with paper and cardboard to be disposed of:
• Receipts printed on thermal paper should not be placed in the paper bin;
• Cardboard packaging must be cleaned of adhesive tapes, staples and staples;
• Flatten and compress packaging to reduce its volume;
• Paper towels soiled with food must be placed in the organic waste;
• In case of further doubts , always check the provisions of your municipality of residence.
